Misc. Hero Wars Dominion Tips for New Players

Leveling Tips

  • Do NOT level heroes past level 20 if you don't plan to use them in the Arena or Guild Wars (until your level 100)
  • DO LEVEL 5-15 of your favorite heroes that you ARE featuring in Grand Arena
  • Do level characters that you plan to use against Maestro, these characters will serve you well anytime, throughout the game, but especially begin to focus on them by level 75-100

Hero Choice Tips
  • Choose heroes that you LIKE - their skills and skins appease you so much that you will love playing with them for more than a year! Heroes you won't get sick of!
  • Choose 1-3 warriors to focus on, make sure they are RANKED heroes (Dante, Yasmine, etc)
  • Choose 1-2 full healers and 1-2 support-half healers (like Nebula or Mojo) who will benefit your teams in MULTIPLE ways! Thea blinds, Martha and Thae speed up the team, Mojo provides great magic damage, and Nebula increases damage to other members. Choose wisely. Aiden, Maya, etc, there are many options for healers. Don't upgrade them all! Choose 1 main healer! And hand-select others for your team's needs.
  • It's wise for anyone to upgrade Sebastian, Nebula, and Isaac for late-game support (trust me)
  • Level up some heroes that will help you overcome difficulties, and learn to counter heroes! Helios to counter critical hits. Cornellius, Folio or Lilith to reduce magic damage/defenses. Biscuit, Jet, Yasmine, and Celeste all punish healing in some way. Utilize Corvus or Phobos to reduce physical damage/defenses.
  • Build a dodge team (know/watch for dodge heroes!)
  • Build a pure damage team (get to know what pure damage is and how to build heroes that can defend themselves effectively against them)
  • Build a critical hit team (get to know how to recognize ALL critical hit heroes and who benefits them so you know when to worry and when to power through against them)
  • Only level non-used heroes when there is an event that gives you benefits/rewards for gaining higher team power overall (happens 1-2 monthly) this is a good time to work on heroes you only use for countering (Helios, Phobos, Cornellius) etc - ones you may not be featuring on teams but will need later on in the game
  • Ignore these heroes, as they are low tier according to the majority of veteran players: Chabba, Markus, Luther, Ziri
  • Heros that are "difficult" be that they require all skills and resources to function well, or that struggle on 'most' teams (teams require being built around them) and are therefore challenging to run effectively by new players/low level play: Ishmael, K'arakh, Iris, Satori
  • Heroes that require strategies for leveling them so they don't fail epically: Keira, Jhu, Galahad

Spending Tips

  • HOLD ONTO YOUR RESOURCES (artifacts, spheres, summoning pets/titans/heroes, titan potions, etc) until an event offers your rewards for doing so! (They happen weekly!)
  • Get your heroes to purple rank asap if you plan to use them (unlock all powers asap)
  • DO NOT level all skills of all heroes your using -- ONLY level 1 to 2 skills each hero unless they are in your TOP 5 HEROS
  • Make a TOP 5 heroes choice from the beginning and spend EVERYHING to upgrade them to top tier shape (optimise artifacts, glyphs, skins) for them first
  • Don't waste your resources on upgrading abilities you don't need. STRATAGIZE your upgrades to heroes and the teams you use them in!

Titan Tips

  • Choose 3 titans of every color (red, green, blue) titans to level up equally and together (you DONT KNOW what color totem you'll get first!)
  • Level your titans equally to get through the tower every day smoothly
  • Dark/Light titans are not the answer to every issue! Level Tenebris, Keros, Solaris and Iyari
  • Place Solaris and Iyari in high priority (5-10 levels higher than the rest) and place them with 3 other same colored titans. S and I will keep the team healthy for attacks!
  • Level Araji, Eden and Hyperion about 10 levels higher than your other titans
  • ONLY level artifacts and put money into your top 5 titans you use for Guild War
  • HOLD ONTO your spheres, potions and skill points and ONLY level your titans when there is an EVENT that offers rewards for doing so!

Pet Tips

  • For ANY physical damage dealing team use VEX
  • If you have Celeste, Yasmine and/or Jet you should level up Biscuit and build a team that punishes others' actions (consider Amira, Helios, etc)
  • For ANY magic damage-dealing team use MERLIN
  • Only use Albus if you have at least 2-3 pure damage dealers
  • Only use Cain if you are running Dante with at least 2 other dodge members on the team
  • Use Fenris with Fafnir teams, run as many stun heroes as possible (consider Cleaver, Ishmael, Fox, Arachne, etc)
  • If you're scared or really, really new, play with Axel or Oliver for a while, until you have teams built that will benefit from other pets.

Pet Level Tips
  • Only focus on upgrading your top 3 pets until they are blue and the same level as your heroes
  • Once you've unlocked 3 blue pets, then continue to unlock other pets to blue when 3 or more stars. (If they DONT have the stars, don't bother too much on their rank)
  • Try to keep most of your pets at the same level as your heroes (if your top 3 pets are already to those levels)
  • Once all your pets are blue and three stars -- then focus on your #1 Pet and Get them to Purple +3 and put ALL potions and level ups into it until it is MAXED
  • Then, you can do that for each other pet you possess and utilize, to the max!
